Health Care Priorities Government sets new priorities to improve access to health care

Patients are at the heart of the province’s health care system and the government has been committed to listening to their needs. It has also taken into account the views of system stakeholders, who like patients, are calling for improved access to health care services.

Reducing wait times with a special focus on emergency departments and improving access to quality family health care are Ontario’s two most important health care priorities over the next four years. Making significant gains in these two priority areas will be crucial to improving the health of all Ontarians and ensuring the future sustainability of the health care system.
