Flu Assessment Centres

Some Ontario communities have set up Flu Assessment Centres to give the public easier access to flu services and to reduce pressure on hospital emergency rooms and family healthcare providers.

These Centres allow people with flu symptoms to get medical advice on whether they should go home and rest or seek further medical assistance. Treatment may be offered such as antivirals and information about possible complications. Assessment Centres are not set up to provide vaccine; to get a flu shot, visit your local vaccination clinic.

Flu Assessment Centres are listed below by area. New centre locations and hours are updated often, so please check regularly for the latest information.

Disclaimer :

Not all areas of the province have opened a Flu Assessment Centre – they are opened by local planners when there are high levels of flu in the community and the local health care system is overwhelmed.

Also, Flu Assessment Centres may only be opened for a short period of time; once flu activity decreases, local planners may decide to close down the Centre and direct people who require medical attention to access the health care system as they normally would.
