Operational Review and Audit of the College of Denturists of Ontario

In May 2010, the Minister of Health and Long-Term engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct an operational review and audit of the College of Denturists of Ontario.  This operational review and audit was required by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care following the receipt of a number of concerns raised regarding the operations of the College.

The purpose of the operational review and audit was to:

  • Assess the adequacy of the College of Denturists of Ontario's (CDO) administration and governance processes, procedures, controls and/or practices;
  • Assess the conduct of the CDO in respect of its 2010 Council elections; and,
  • Conduct a financial audit.

The report identified a number of deficiencies with respect to the operations of the College and assisted in the decision to recommend the appointment of a College supervisor to the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
