In the months and years ahead, Ontario will continue to make progress on our Patients First: Action Plan for Health Care. By putting patients first in everything we do, we will provide faster access to the care patients need today and make the necessary investments to ensure our health system will be there for patients for generations to come.

Helping People:

Ontario is increasing funding to our health care system by more than $1 billion in 2016-17.

That means:

700 new doctors

Adding 700 new doctors and specialists - so more Ontarians can have faster access to care. Read more

An additional $250 million towards home and community care - so more Ontarians can receive care in the comfort of their own home. Read more

35 Hospitals

35 hospitals are currently being renewed, modernized or expanded - so more Ontarians can have faster access to care. Read more

Investing in Hospitals
Investing an additional $345 million in hospitals - so Ontarians will have shorter wait times for surgeries, like hip and knee replacements, and improved access to services. Read more
