Ontario Moving Forward With Plans to Meet Health Care Needs of Local Residents

October 14, 2016

The Ontario government is working with The Scarborough Hospital, Rouge Valley Health System and Lakeridge Health to move forward with a plan that will deliver hospital services that best meet the needs of local residents.

The minister commends the three hospital corporations on the success they have achieved to date with their integration initiatives. The hospitals have come together to create integrated health service organizations that will better serve their communities. The minister acknowledges the leadership and commitment of the hospitals.

The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Dr. Eric Hoskins, has issued an integration order, which outlines the integration plans and directs the hospitals to ensure that the governance frameworks are in accord with the integration. The public has 30 days (until November 14, 2016) to submit their feedback in writing or online before a final order is issued.
