McGuinty Government Improving Access To Care For 3,200 Ontarians

July 13, 2011

News

Coming this fall, a new Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic in Peterborough will bring peace of mind to 3,200 more people with access to health care closer to home.

Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics offer a team-based approach to frontline health care services by collaborating with doctors and other health care professionals.

Once fully operational, the VON 360 Degree Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic’s team of staff will include four nurse practitioners, two registered nurses, two social workers, a part-time registered dietician and the collaboration of a doctor.

Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics are a key part of the government's plan to provide better access to health care services while improving quality and accountability for patients.
