Since its inception in December 2006, the Pharmacy Council has actively worked to fulfill its mandate in ensuring pharmacists' involvement in the development of pharmaceutical and health policy including professional pharmacy services for compensation by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. During its first year, the Pharmacy Council fulfilled the landmark implementation of the MedsCheck program in Ontario for patients who have a chronic medical condition and are taking three or more prescription medications.
