Late Career

The Late Career Nurse Initiative (LCNI) is designed to allow nurses 55 years of age and older to spend 20 per cent of their work time in less physically demanding nursing roles. The goals of this initiative include :

  • Creation of alternate, less physically demanding or expanded roles.
  • Provision of healthy work environments (HWEs) for nurses.
  • Enhancement of the knowledge and expertise of late career nurses – allowing them to transfer their knowledge to novice nurses.

Call for Applications - 2015/16 Late Career Nurse Initiative Application available July 31, 2015

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is accepting applications for the 2015/16 Late Career Nurse Initiative (LCNI).

Completed applications must be received by Monday, August 31, 2015 at 5:00 pm EST.
