INTERPROVINCIAL BILLING RATES FOR HIGH COST PROCEDURES CODES 201, 202, AND 301 EFFECTIVE FOR DISCHARGES ON OR AFTER APRIL 1, 2004

INTERPROVINCIAL HIGH COST PROCEDURE BILLING CODES 201, 202, AND 301

At their April 29, 30, 2004 meeting, the Interprovincial Health Insurance Agreements Coordinating Committee (IHIACC) Members agreed to amend specific high cost procedure rates for billing codes 201, 202 and 301 to correspond to the outpatient rates for the same procedures: codes 08, 09 and 11. As a result, effective April 1, 2004, high cost procedure codes 201 and 202 can be billed at $762.00 and code 301 can be billed at $685.00.

Regional MOHLTC Finance Managers have previously distributed the new outpatient billing rates to individual hospitals. Please refer to the attached document outlining the list of the revisions for the high cost procedure billing codes.

Contact your local Ministry Regional Finance Manager for further information on the revised high cost procedure rates.
