Consultations on Modernizing Public Health and Emergency Health Services

As part of Ontario’s comprehensive plan to end hallway health care, we will be modernizing both public health and emergency health services to meet the evolving needs of communities across Ontario.

To facilitate renewed discussions that are both open and transparent, the Ministry of Health will be hosting consultations led by Jim Pine on how to strengthen and modernize public health and emergency health services. Mr. Pine will be joined in these consultations by Alison Blair, Assistant Deputy Minister for Emergency Health Services and Executive Lead for Public Health Modernization, and Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario.

Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback to the following discussion papers through the survey link provided at the end of each paper.

Discussion Paper: Public Health Modernization [PDF]

Discussion Paper: Emergency Health Services Modernization [PDF]

The ministry will reach out to stakeholders directly for in-person consultations.

If you have any questions or comments about the consultations, email: ehsphmodernization@ontario.ca.
