Special Authorization Digital Information Exchange (SADIE)
SADIE (the Special Authorization Digital Information Exchange) is the portal for submitting Exceptional Access Program (EAP) drug requests for Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) recipients. It is a user-friendly system that is easy to navigate and provides a step-by-step approach to creating your requests.
You can use SADIE to:
- research which drugs are covered for which indications
- find out what clinical information is required for each request
- create requests using criteria-based forms (for most drugs)
First phase
In this version of SADIE, you can:
- complete an EAP request – you will need the patient’s identifying information including Ontario Health card number, last name, and date of birth, and the relevant clinical details required by the EAP (the system will tell you if you have missed a field or completed it incorrectly, such as an incomplete Ontario Health card number)
- submit the request directly from within SADIE
Future phases
SADIE is a work in progress – new capabilities and functions will be added as they are developed.
For example, only requests that you have created but not yet submitted will be listed on the SADIE Home Page in the SADIE Application. A future capability will allow you to review requests you have already submitted.
What browsers you should use
Chrome is the recommended browser for SADIE. Other browsers, except Internet Explorer, are also supported.
