Emergency Management Unit

Ontario's Grade 8 HPV Vaccination Program

Every year in Ontario hundreds of women are diagnosed with cervical cancer. As many as 140 women will die of the disease each year. Now, with Ontario's HPV vaccination program for Grade 8 girls, you can help protect your daughter from cervical cancer.

Health Care Provider Access to Drug Claims History

The ministry is now beginning to provide more health care providers with access to the drug claims history of ODB recipients for the purpose of providing health care. Participating health care providers may only access your drug claims history for the purpose of providing care to you. Health care providers are required by law to protect the privacy of your personal health information.

Healthy Smiles Ontario

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a new program for kids 17 and under who do not have access to any form of dental coverage.

Independent Health Facilities

The Independent Health Facilities Program licenses, funds and coordinates quality assurance assessments of community-based non-hospital facilities in Ontario that provide insured diagnostic services (ultrasound, x-ray, pulmonary function, nuclear medicine and sleep studies) and/or insured surgical/treatment services (e.g., cataract surgery, dialysis, plastic surgery).

Influenza Immunization Program

Influenza is a serious and highly contagious infections disease from which we can protect ourselves. The influenza vaccine is once again available free of charge to all Ontario residents and is the single most effective way to avoid getting the flu.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care works with local Public Health Units and Health Canada to monitor the presence of West Nile Virus in the province.
