Do you need a catch-up vaccination?

Yes, if

You know you have never been vaccinated
You have received only one dose of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine
You are unsure whether you have received one or two doses of MMR vaccine

No, if

You are sure that you have received two MMR vaccinations
You have already been infected with the mumps virus

How to find out if you need a second dose of MMR

Check your vaccination records to determine how many doses of MMR you have received. If you cannot find your records, contact the public health unit closest to where you last attended secondary school. They should have a copy of your immunization records. You can also contact your health care provider who provided your childhood immunizations.

If you cannot find your immunization records and are unsure how many doses you have had, you can still safely receive one dose of the MMR vaccine.
