Ontario has appointed Graham Scott as supervisor for Quinte Healthcare Corporation (QHC) to address governance and financial issues so the hospital can better meet the health care needs of local residents.

Graham Scott, a former Deputy Minister of Health, will draw on his experience to oversee the implementation of recommendations from a 2006 assessment on governance and related matters at QHC. He will also be following up on steps recommended in a 2008 review of a system performance report by Ken Tremblay.

As supervisor, Scott will assume full powers of the hospital board, the corporation, its officers and members of the corporation. In his role, he will work closely with senior hospital officials and the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).

Graham Scott will report directly to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care and will make his first visit to QHC in his role as Supervisor on Thursday, April 16th.
