Critical Care System-Level Training Initiatives
As part of the Critical Care Strategy, the Ministry has established a $1.5 million annual fund to support training initiatives that enhance the skills and capacities of existing critical care service providers. In the 2006/07 fiscal year, this funding will be used to provide specialized training for nurses participating on Critical Care Response Teams, to provide advanced resuscitation training to physicians in some community hospitals, and to conduct a province-wide needs assessment among critical care service providers to identify training priorities for future years. To support the achievement of the aims identified for this fiscal, the Ministry will partner with the Canadian Resuscitation Institute (CRI), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing and delivering educational programs to the medical community. For more information about the Canadian Resuscitation Institute, please see their website at www.cri-icr.org. |
