Changes to the Schedule of Benefits Physician Services and
Related Changes Effective April 1, 2001

pages of the Schedule are not distributed with this Bulletin. A

following this Bulletin. For your convenience, a complete updated
unofficial version of the Schedule will be available on the

1.1
Increase to Schedule of Benefits Fees of 2%
Effective
April 1, 2001, under the current agreement between the Ministry of
Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association, the
Schedule of Benefits will be revised to provide a 2.0% increase to
all fees except uninsured services that are listed in Appendix F
and technical, hospital and facility fees for diagnostic services.
As per the agreement, the Committee on Technical Fees will make
recommendations regarding technical, hospital and facility fees.
The
2.0% increase will be applied automatically to all claim
submissions for services provided on or after April 1, 2001.
1.2
Increase to Threshold Levels
Effective
April 1, 2001, for fiscal year 2001/2002, the threshold levels at
which reductions are calculated will increase by $10,000. For
General/Family Practitioners, the starting level will increase
from $330,000 to $340,000 and for specialists from $410,000 to
$420,000. The threshold reductions only take effect as these
higher OHIP earnings amounts are reached. After-hours non-elective
hospital services continue to be exempt from threshold reductions. |
