Ontario Opportunities : More Access for IMGs

As of February 1, 2006, International Medical Graduates are eligible to apply for first-year residency positions in the second iteration of the annual Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) process.

The number and type of residency positions available will be determined after the first iteration of the 2006 CaRMS match is completed on February 22, 2006. These positions are offered in exchange for a five-year commitment to provide medical service in an approved under-serviced community in Ontario.

Available positions are for full residency. Candidates considering this offer should visit the CaRMS website at www.carms.ca for eligibility criteria, deadline dates and application instructions. Individuals who have already matched to a residency position through CaRMS or IMG Ontario are not eligible to apply due to their preexisting binding commitment to accept such appointments.

Take advantage of the new opportunity.
Check out the details at : www.carms.ca
It's the first time Ontario has provided such access.
