East (North East) Champlain District Mental Health Implementation Task Force Final Report

Moving to Action

This report is the culmination of over twenty years of planning, consultation and policy development. It is founded on recommendations and thinking from the various key processes that have evolved through the commitment and innovations of stakeholders throughout the Champlain District.

The Champlain District Mental Health Task Force, System Management and Integration Committee has taken the lead in developing this report. However, all the Committees of the Task Force have had an important role in reviewing drafts of this report and inputting into the development of the recommendations.

Broad community consultations were undertaken to ensure that stakeholders had the opportunity to further shape this System Design from September 2001 through to April 2002. Most importantly, people living with, or who have recovered from, mental illness and their families have contributed to and formed this report and the recommendations within through their involvement in focused consultations. The Task Force is committed to ensuring that the System is not designed for people living with, or who have recovered from, mental illness and their families but with them.
