Regional Public Health Laboratories

The Public Health Laboratories provide laboratory testing and expertise for the prevention of disease and the protection and promotion of the public's health in Ontario. Including the Central Laboratory in Toronto, there are a total of 12 Public Health Laboratories throughout Ontario (see listing). Public Health laboratories carry out testing in support of public health activities and programs relating to reportable, emerging and other public health relevant diseases.

Effective Monday December 15th, 2008, the Ontario Public Health Laboratories (OPHL) have been transferred to the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP). Information about Public Health Laboratories can now be found at www.oahpp.ca.
