Alex Bezzina Assistant Deputy Minister Divisional Mandate The Health System Accountability and Performance Division ensures that the strategies for which it has oversight, deliver the intended results. It fulfills this mandate by :

• Guiding the implementation of provincial strategies and initiatives that accelerate improvements in access, quality and efficiency
• Ensuring that partners and health service providers are held accountable for complying with provincial requirements and for achieving the best outcomes through their use of funds
• Building provincial and local capacity and accountability in the health care delivery system
• Leading performance improvement initiatives and activities
• Evaluating outcomes to identify opportunities for future health system improvement and providing expertise to inform the development of strategies and initiatives
