• I have worked as a certified Ontario paramedic in the past, but have been away from this practice for some time. I would like to resume work as a paramedic; what do I have to do?
• I am an Ontario paramedic and wish to pursue employment opportunities outside of Ontario or Canada. What are the necessary steps to do this?
• I am a paramedic licensed in a recognized Canadian province or territory and would like to obtain qualifications for employment in Ontario as a PCP or ACP. What is the process?
• I am a paramedic who obtained training within a Canadian province or territory but does not hold current licensure within that province or territory, or the province or territory is not recognized under the AIT agreement. What is the process?
• I am a paramedic who obtained paramedic training outside of Canada and I want to work in Ontario. What is the process?
• I am a Registered Nurse and wish to obtain qualifications for employment in Ontario as a paramedic. What is the process?
• I am a Physician and wish to obtain qualifications for employment in Ontario as a paramedic. What is the process?

Each of Ontario's 50 upper-tier municipalities and designated delivery agents is responsible for either directly providing land ambulance services, or for providing service through contracted land ambulance service providers. All applications for employment should be made directly to the services you are interested in.

Depending on the amount of time away from practicing as a paramedic, you may be required to complete upgrading programs to ensure current paramedic practice knowledge. You should :

• Contact the local Regional Training Coordinator (RTC) to obtain any training, at your own expense, that may have been conducted in your absence, and
• Ensure you are current in your skills of paramedic practice. EMCA/AEMCA remedials are conducted at Ontario Colleges should you wish to attend one.

Note : There is no expiration of EMCA/AEMCA certificates

• Provide a letter to the Emergency Health Services Branch (EHSB) stating your requirement and authorizing the release of this information to the requesting body, along with,
• If applicable, complete and submit the registration verification form by the requesting body, and
• Include a $15.00 fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance

• Provide a letter to EHSB outlining your desire to enter the MOHLTC Paramedic Equivalency Process along with,
• The necessary documentation required for Phase I for an AIT-PCP or AIT-ACP applicant and
• A $50.00 registration fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance

• Provide a letter to EHSB outlining your desire to enter the MOHLTC Paramedic Equivalency Process along with,
• The necessary documentation required for Phase I for a Standard-PCP or Standard-ACP applicant, and
• A $50.00 registration fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance

• Provide a letter to EHSB outlining your desire to enter the MOHLTC Paramedic Equivalency Process along with,
• The necessary documentation required for Phase I for a Standard-PCP or Standard-ACP applicant, and
• A $50.00 registration fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance

• Provide a letter to EHSB outlining your desire to enter the MOHLTC Paramedic Equivalency Process as a Standard-PCP applicant, along with,
• The necessary documentation required for Phase I for a Standard-PCP, and
• A $50.00 registration fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance

• Provide a letter to EHSB outlining your desire to enter the MOHLTC Paramedic Equivalency Process as a Standard-PCP applicant, along with,
• The necessary documentation required for Phase I for a Standard-PCP, and
• A $50.00 registration fee in the form of a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance
