DISEASES : SARS - Who should be in isolation at home?

The risk of being infected by SARS remains very low for most Ontarians. For some people, however, to protect both their own health and the health of others, a period of isolation may be necessary. Please consult the chart below to see what risk category you fall in and what action you may need to take :

Who are you? What should you do? Who should you call?
I heard about SARS and want to know how to protect myself and my family.

I am exposed to many people on my way to, and at, work.

Washing your hands is always the best way to prevent infection from any illness. People who have general queries about SARS can call Ontario's Health Infoline at 1-888-668-4636 (TTY 1-800-387-5559) for more information.
I haven't had contact with SARS as far as I know, but I have a fever and a cough. As with any illness, try to rest, drink fluids, and wash your hands. Call Telehealth Ontario 1-866-797-0000 (TTY 1-866-797-0007) if you want to speak to a Registered Nurse.
I am living with someone in isolation, but everyone in the house is following protocols. Continue to follow isolation protocol with your household. Call your doctor or Telehealth Ontario 1-866-797-0000 (TTY 1-866-797-0007) for direction.
