Universal Influenza Immunization Program (UIIP)
Welcome to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) Universal Influenza Immunization Program (UIIP), 2006-2007. The first program of its kind in North America, the UIIP was officially launched in the fall 2000 as part of the commitment to protect and promote the health of Ontarians. This is the seventh consecutive year of the program. Individuals aged 6 months or older who live, work or attend school in Ontario are eligible to receive the publicly funded influenza vaccine. All eligible Ontarians can receive free flu shots from their physicians and through community influenza clinics offered by public health units, Community Health Centres (CHCs), Community Care Access Centres (CCACs), public hospitals, Long-Term Care Homes (LTCHs), pharmacy-sponsored clinics as well as employer-sponsored clinics across the province. Influenza implementation packages have been developed for the following providers and clinic types :

Non-reimbursable clinics : The administration of influenza vaccine in all other clinics including workplace clinics , is not eligible for reimbursement by the MOHLTC.
