Project: The ABC's   of BPGs: A Workbook to Facilitate Nursing Staff's Understanding of Best Practice Guidelines.

To promote long-term care nurses' understanding of best practice guidelines (BPGs), Yee Hong Centre recently developed the “ABCs of BPGs,” a self-paced, on-line workbook that fosters a nurse's initial development as an in-house BPG champion.   Each chapter in the workbook is designed to promote incremental learning and is accompanied by explanation and links to on-line information resources, such as the RNAO BPG website and relevant articles.  

Yee Hong Centre's resource is innovative because there is no standard self-learning resource to provide nurses with a basic introduction of BPGs.   Nursing staff at Yee Hong report an increased awareness and understanding of BPGs because of the “ABCs of BPGs.”
