The Simcoe County Dementia Network identifies challenges in dementia care in the local community.   The ÒMe&U-First!Ó project addresses these challenges with the goal to increase understanding and improve communications between partners in care, so that persons with dementia have an improved quality of life.   The components of the project are ÒLiving with Dementia,Ó a resource to facilitate communication and care for persons with dementia and their partners in care, and a series of eight e-learning training modules designed for front line care workers.

This innovative project was developed through consultation with the target groups including persons with dementia, caregivers and front line workers.   This inclusive process ensured the delivery of a successful product.   The resource guide and e-learning modules have the capacity to reach a large number of users as they will be web based and will be supported by local chapters of the Alzheimers Society.
