Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2007 On May 23 and 24th the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care partnered with the 14 Local Health Integration Networks to host the second annual Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo. With more than 150 exhibitors and 14 high-level workshops, the Expo is a showcase of innovative solutions and projects supporting health care system renewal in Ontario. Held at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, the event provides an opportunity to share and learn about current achievements and unique approaches underway in communities across the province as they relate to the government's transformation strategies around primary care, wait times, critical care and information management, as well as innovations underway in other health care areas such as mental health, long-term care, and public health. The two-day event also presents a unique occasion for collectively acknowledging the system's successes around the delivery of patient-focused and integrated health care services. Six innovative health care organizers were recognized from a field of more than 300 submissions when George Smitherman, Minister of Health and Long-Term presented the 2007 Innovation Awards to : Innovations in Health Human Resources
