Transforming the health system is an iterative process, involving thousands of members of the health care community. The government’s Health Results Team has made engaging the health care community in a comprehensive and transparent manner one of its guiding principles. Its approach is to seek solutions in consultation with stakeholders and communities.

Over the past eighteen months, targeted presentations have been delivered to key information stakeholders, such as the Information Technology Association of Canada, the Canadian Institute for Health Information, the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres, the Ontario Long-Term Care Association, the Ontario Pharmacists’ Association and the Ontario Health Quality Council. Expert panels and action groups have been formed, and surveys conducted for specific deliverables related to the strategy. As a result, hundreds of health care providers, health system experts, as well as government partners have been engaged in the effort to improve the way health system information is managed and in the development of solutions.

In the coming year, a collaborative effort will continue to be central to the success of the strategy. The knowledge and expertise of partners will continue to be leveraged, as the Health Results Team moves forward in its mandate.
