In March 2012, Ontario appointed investigators to review and report on issues related to the quality of care and treatment of patients at three Essex County hospitals with particular focus on pathology results and recent reports of surgical errors.
On January 4, 2011, in order to address significant patient care and leadership issues identified in the Report of the Investigators of Surgical and Pathology Issues at Three Essex County Hospitals, Ken Deane was appointed as Supervisor at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor.
The Supervisor was mandated to implement the changes that are necessary to address the issues identified in the investigators report.
Mr. Deane submitted his final report to the Minister of Health and Long Term Care on July 3, 2012.
The report details the work that was undertaken by the Supervisor in order to stabilize the Hospital and implement the recommendations in the report that prompted the Supervisor’s appointment.
