Made under Part V of the Connecting Care Act, 2019, S.O. 2019, c. 5, Sched. 1

Whereas:

  1. In furtherance of the Government's plan to implement a new model of integrated health care delivery in Ontario, the Government enacted the Connecting Care Act, 2019 (the "Act") under which a single provincial agency - Ontario Health - will assume centralized responsibility for most of the functions of more than twenty health organizations, including CorHealth Ontario ("CorHealth");
  2. Subsection 40(1) of the Act confers authority on the Minister of Health (the "Minister") to issue orders transferring into Ontario Health all or part of the staff, assets, liabilities, rights and obligations of an organization listed under subsection 40(2) of the Act ("Transferor");
  3. Under subsection 40(3) of the Act, the Minister provided Ontario Health and CorHealth with a notification letter dated January 8, 2021 advising of the Minister's intention to transfer CorHealth into Ontario Health;
  4. Subsection 43(1) of the Act authorizes the Minister to make an order to dissolve a Transferor;
  5. The Minister wishes to transfer and subsequently dissolve CorHealth effective as of December 1, 2021.

Therefore:

  1. The Minister orders:
    1. pursuant to subsection 40(1) of the Act, that:
      1. all assets, liabilities, rights and obligations, and all records relating thereto, of CorHealth are transferred to Ontario Health; and
      2. all employees of CorHealth and related records, rights and obligations are transferred to Ontario Health; and
    2. pursuant to subsection 43(1) of the Act, that CorHealth be dissolved.
  2. In accordance with section 43 of the Act, the appointments to the CorHealth Board which are in effect immediately before the dissolution of CorHealth are terminated.
  3. This Order takes effect on December 1, 2021.
