Ministry Status: Recovery

The ministry is resuming regular operations and supporting health sector stabilization.

Long-Term Care Home Development

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care supports both the development and redevelopment of Ontario's long-term care homes.

Developing a long-term care home means building a new long-term care home where there wasn't one before.

Redeveloping a long-term care home could include everything from renovating an existing long-term care home, to building a new long-term care home, to replacing an older building. When redeveloping a long-term care home, an operator of a long-term care home may also wish to expand the home's current capacity for residents.

If you're interested in developing or redeveloping a long-term care home, please email LTCHomeRenewalBranch@ontario.ca to speak to a ministry representative who can provide further information.
